Who is MAHJ 101 for?

Who is Mahj 101 for?

A beginner course for players interested in learning how to play Mahjong. It is also a great course for players who haven't played in a very long time, or who may need to revisit the basics.

What's included in Mahj 101?

  • Brief history of Mahjong
  • Game overview
  • Tile descriptions and understanding
  • Terminology and player etiquette 
  • Decoding the NMJL playing card
  • Steps to dealing and play sequences.

Do I need my own tiles?

Not for this class! Charlotte Mahjong Club will provide all the tiles necessary for you to enjoy and learn the game. We are not exclusive tile promoters. We believe in promoting unique artists and various Mahjong companies. Tiles should be reflective of a players personality.
