A game for every one, bringing every generation together
"“I love playing Mahjong with my parents. It’s become more than a game, it’s our time to truly connect. When you’re gathered around the table, focused on the tiles, conversations unfold naturally. We share stories about our days, our memories, and parts of our lives that might not come up otherwise. Through Mahjong, I’ve learned so much about my parents’ journeys, and it has deepened our friendship in the most meaningful way. I’m incredibly grateful. I hope to share my love of Mahjong with you, and that it brings the same connection and joy into your life.”

Mahjong socials: Please remember to bring your NMJL card. If you're new and your card hasn't arrived yet, you may borrow one of ours!
What if I am coming alone?
Our socials are a great way to make new friends! When you register you’ll be asked if you want to be at a faster or slower table. You’ll be assigned a table with similar speed players to meet and play with.
What if I am a beginner? A Mahjong event sounds scary!
Events will have descriptions of experience level required. If you're new to Mahjong and have taken a MAHJ 101 class but still learning we recommend coming to an event that says "instructor lead" or "instructor guided". Many of our events when you register it will ask what speed of play you would like, and you'll be assigned a table of players at similar speed/experience level of Mahjong as you.
So beginners are welcome at mahjong open play socials?
Yup! For our socials, you just need to have taken a Mahj 101 course from any group, or be experienced and knowledgable of playing. An instructor is available to answer questions or give line suggestions
