Looking to make friends in Charlotte playing mahjong?

Before each event, we thoughtfully arrange tables based on every player’s experience and preferred pace.


Our events are designed to help solo players in Charlotte meet compatible players, and hopefully find their future Mahjong group in Charlotte!

Frequently Asked Questions

This is a great way to make new friends! When you register you’ll be asked if you want to be at a faster or slower table. You’ll be assigned a table with similar speed players to meet and play with. If you have an open seat at your table we'll try to fill it with a player looking to meet new friends. 

We have plenty of tiles to borrow for each table and we also have cards for folks to borrow in case yours has not arrived or you forgot to toss it into your bag before leaving

Of course! While Mahjong has traditionally been popular among women, it’s absolutely for everyone — and we’re seeing more and more men join the game. It’s a fantastic way to connect with your partner, friends, or colleagues and enjoy a fun, social experience together. Just like all players, they are required to know the basics of how to play as this event is not a lesson. 

Have no fear we have the table for you!  There is an instructor available to answer any questions or give you line suggestions. When you register you’ll be asked if you want to be at a faster or slower table.  All seats are assigned, so you'll be assigned a table with similar speed players to meet and play with.

New to open play? We’d love to have you once you’ve taken a beginner Mahjong lesson as our socials are not a formal lesson. Please review our upcoming small group lessons to register and then attend our next social!

Are you interested in learning to play Mahjong in Charlotte North Carolina? We host lesson for interested players to learn to how play mahjong in Charlotte through casual lessons, classes and social events. We offer advance mahjong lessons and private party classes in local areas including Matthews, Mint Hill, University area of Charlotte, Huntersville, Davidson and Concord. We have also hosted mahjong lessons in Waxhaw, Indian Hill and as far as Wilmington north carolina and asheville. We provide all the mahjong tiles, mahjong mats, National mahjong league cards and instruction materials to have students build a foundational knowledge base to begin their mahjong playing experience.
